Dreaming Big Dreams
Do you dream big dreams? Do you have hopes of leaving a lasting impact?
Each of us is uniquely designed and created with a specific purpose. We are given dreams or hopes of what we want to accomplish here on earth and our work brings glory to God when we work as unto Him.
The Psalmist says to “ Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Only after first delighting in Him can we experience the joy of fulfilled desires.
His desires become ours. They can be described as dreams we want to accomplish. They excite, energize and propel us to study and work hard. They set people apart in achieving what is excellent rather than mediocre. And, they bring about discoveries that benefit mankind.
Parents, encourage your children to run after their dreams. Be their biggest cheerleader! They need your affirmation to develop the confidence and courage to imagine and chase their dreams.
If you have unfulfilled dreams or undiscovered ones, don’t despair.
Ask the Lord to reveal and help you fulfill an exciting dream in your life.
Get in shape physically so you can work with optimal energy and health.
Saturate yourself in learning all you can about areas of your greatest interest by engaging in related activities and reading biographies and autobiographies of those in the field. Reach out to people you desire to emulate – and learn from them. Stay motivated by posting pictures, quotes, or prayers of inspiration around your house or office.
And, remember, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
One of the best ways to help your child discover and reach their dreams is by helping them understand themselves. God has uniquely created them and has a specific purpose for their life.
