30 Day Money Reset
Your one month challenge to develop healthy, biblical financial habits.
DAY 26
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT AND YOUR FINANCES
In Galatians 5, we read about the nine Fruits of the Spirit:
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
These nine virtues are characteristics of the Holy Spirit living in us and can be viewed as guidelines, standards of how Christians should live their lives. Someone should be able to distinguish a follower of Christ from the rest of the world because these virtues should be apparent in their daily life.
The infiltration of the Holy Spirit in our lives is not confined to our Sunday morning behavior or the number of Bible studies we’ve participated in. It changes everything in our lives – including our finances.
Since the Fruit of the Spirit should be apparent in every aspect of a Christian’s life, then they should be obvious in the way we spend our money as well.
Study the Fruit of the Spirit. Which do you need to grow in when it comes to your finances? Pick your top 3 you want to grow in and write down a practical way to accomplish that.
Today's action item:
Can you identify each of these 9 fruits in the way you spend your money?
Today, study Galatians 5 and pick the three you'd like to grow in most. Write down a practical way you can exhibit each of those fruits with your finances.
