In the heart of Kemukaka, Zimbabwe, what began as a simple tuck-shop—a small, home-based shop selling everyday essentials to the local community—has become the foundation of a transformed household. For Dudzi Zinyombe, the journey from uncertainty to stability began with a desire to steward her resources wisely.
In January 2025, Dudzi enrolled in the Financial Money Map Training, a ten-month program designed to equip families with practical financial tools rooted in biblical stewardship. “We used to guess our spending,” Dudzi shared. “Now we plan together and track our income and expenses as a family.”
As Dudzi applied budgeting, saving, and investing principles to her tuck-shop, the impact quickly extended beyond her business. Her husband, a horticulture farmer, began implementing the same principles on their small plot of land. Using Pfumvudza farming methods learned through Foundations for Farming, the couple diversified their crops and strengthened their farm’s productivity.
Profits from the tuck-shop were reinvested into farming—buying seeds, tools, and labor—turning two modest efforts into one sustainable livelihood. Their disciplined saving soon led to a significant milestone: the purchase of a solar-powered irrigation system. “The solar system is proof that small steps lead to big change,” Dudzi said.
With the ability to grow crops out of season, the family can now pay school fees consistently and serve as a visible example of what’s possible. Their neighbors have taken notice, inspired by a partnership built on faith, planning, and shared vision.
Dudzi’s story is one of more than 450 families impacted through the Crown–Foundations for Farming partnership—living testimonies to how faith, stewardship, and practical training can bring lasting transformation.
