John and Mary Beth Flippen continue to make a lasting impact in Malawi through their work with Crown. Their team remains committed to loving like Jesus, and their recent efforts have led to several groundbreaking milestones. They hosted the first-ever Lead Farmer Day, bringing together 12 dedicated farmers who will now meet quarterly to support and encourage one another. They also launched the Financial Stewardship Workshop in Lilongwe, the capital city, and conducted a three-day Finance & Family workshop in a Muslim village—expanding their reach and deepening their influence.

The effectiveness of the Shepherding School was evident when the 12 Lead Farmers returned to share their progress. Despite facing skepticism and even ridicule for adopting new farming techniques, they persevered. Their commitment paid off, as

Flippens 2 Copythey witnessed healthier soil, improved crop resilience during drought, and a shift from dependency to generosity within their communities. One trained farmer shared how his neighbors showed up at his home first thing in the morning, asking for his help, because they saw his transformation and his newfound leadership. Others spoke of how budgeting dramas brought peace to families and inspired them to manage finances together. Most powerfully, a Muslim man, drawn by these transformations, engaged in conversations about faith and ultimately gave his life to Jesus.
