Jeffrey and Lucinda Cannon’s journey with Crown Budget Coaching has been both challenging and encouraging, helping them gain a new perspective on their finances. Before starting the program, the couple had a budget in place but struggled to stick to it due to unforeseen expenses and bad spending habits, particularly on Jeffrey’s part. “We were headed in the right direction, but we weren’t staying on track,” Jeffrey shared.

The turning point came when they enrolled in the Crown Budget Coaching course, particularly appreciating the Bible study component and the coaching provided by Oscar Cajipe. “There is much more in the Bible than we thought. Knowing it and applying it can make a huge difference in how well we love God and others,” Lucinda said. The discussions with their coach helped them see the big picture of biblical stewardship more clearly, guiding them toward financial freedom.

For the Cannons, being “slaves to debt” and trapped by the world’s financial mindset was “awful.” However, through Crown Budget Coaching, they found freedom. “With the biblical knowledge, accountability, and sound advice, we can live free of money problems, or at least free of worrying about any issues that do arise simply because we live in a fallen world,” Jeffrey explained. This newfound peace, rooted in God’s wisdom, also allowed them to be more generous.

As a result of the program, the Cannons became debt-free, with only $2,800 remaining to be paid off in the coming months. They also began saving for future expenses and stuck to their budget for the first month after putting what they learned into practice. “We have a greater passion for being good stewards and honoring God with our finances,” Lucinda shared.

The Cannons now feel confident in their financial journey, understanding that “God’s way of handling finances works best, period.” Their financial peace not only strengthens their relationship with God but also provides an opportunity to be a testimony to others, both believers and non-believers alike. “Our lack of worry about finances, and ability to help those in need, can be a wonderful testimony to unbelievers and believers,” Jeffrey concluded.

Encouraging others to take the course, regardless of where they are in their financial journey, the Cannons emphasize that the biblical approach to finances is life-changing. They believe that, through proper stewardship, generosity, and seeking God’s kingdom first, anyone can experience true financial freedom.
