Worried About Money?

Many Americans are worried about money. Are you?

It’s been said, “You can’t change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future.” Most people worry about money: how to make it, how to keep it, and how to grow it. Worry takes a toll on our health. It affects our relationships and job performance but solves nothing. Only by trusting God and living by His financial principles will we be able to find freedom. When we replace worry with truth and action we can move forward with confidence. So accept where you are, knowing that God is bigger than your circumstances. Live one day at a time in complete dependence on him. Maybe you’ve made mistakes that you need to acknowledge. Begin to take  steps towards living as a responsible steward. Daily faithfulness to a small goal will lead to big results. Determine to live beneath your means and you’ll begin to alleviate debt and build savings. Learn to be thankful. These steps to financial freedom will bring you true joy and contentment.

And if you keep a journal, watch for and record God’s blessings, then review his faithfulness. When you’re tempted to worry, ask for faith to trust Him more. Get your eyes off of your situation and focus on Him. The Apostle Paul said: “…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
