Three Tips For Working With Excellence
Do you work with excellence?
Francis of Assisi said, “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands, his head, and his heart is an artist.” When these three converge, regardless of the line of work, it is a beauty to behold someone putting their all into the task at hand. In Colossians 3:23-24, Paul said, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Made in His image, we’re created to do good works. By putting our hands, head, and heart into work we’re like artists desiring to captivate others with the beauty we create, but the approval of our Lord Jesus Christ is the only one that truly matters. So here are 3 tips to help us do our very best.
• Always finish the task we were hired to do.
• Always be the first to inspect our work making sure it’s done at the highest standard.
• Always guarantee our work. If it doesn’t meet the desired standard, stay after the task, no matter what it takes, until it’s deemed excellent.
These tips will help us today and prepare us for promised rewards from the Lord Himself. Proverbs 22:29 says, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings….” I like to say, those who work skillfully to please the Lord will stand before the King of Kings.
