The Reward of Financial Obedience

Financial obedience has rewards.

Moses is described as the humblest man on the face of the earth – a true friend of God. He believed and obeyed, even when it required pain and sacrifice. His life reminds us that obedience is not a guarantee of comfort, but it’s always a pathway to purpose. Let’s apply that truth to how we handle money.

Choosing to obey God’s financial principles can sometimes be painful. Saying “Yes” to the Lord can expose the consequences of past decisions. Financial obedience isn’t about immediate outcomes. It’s a day after day faithfulness to His call on our lives. Paying off debt means saying “No” to the things we want. Living within our means can feel restrictive. Giving generously may stretch us in ways that feel uncomfortable or even risky. Sometimes we must endure sacrifices long before we see the reward. Moses trusted God even when the road was difficult. Likewise, God wants us to trust Him, even when the path feels costly or nonsensical.

Financial obedience doesn’t always mean more money, but it rewards us with a freedom that’s accompanied by supernatural peace. God honors obedience rooted in faith. He knows the situations each of us face and will equip us for the journey. He loved us so much, He gave us financial principles for our own good. The longer we obey, the deeper our fellowship, friendship, and faith in God grows. Because on the other side of obedience is freedom, purpose, and the assurance of eternal rewards!
