Thanksgiving Day 2019

Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory?

My favorite memory is in 1989 – a year that we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. I hadn’t seen my brother-in-law Billy since he was saved working in the Gulf of Mexico as a petroleum engineer.

Now that year, I welcomed him to the faith and I thanked him for the courage to give his life to Christ. It was the last time that I saw him alive.

He died a few months later in a snow skiing accident, leaving behind a wife and infant son.

We don’t know the length of our days. Each one’s a gift to be used to glorify God

Now God’s economy is based on sharing. He’s blessed us so that we can bless others. Jesus said: It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35)

Wisely handling what He provides allows us to become givers. It’s how we experience true riches.

I’m grateful for this holiday because it allows us to pause in gratitude for the many gifts God’s bestowed upon us.

I’m grateful for God’s financial principles that allow us to live in freedom and to be in a position to be generous towards others.

I’m grateful for my family, my friends, the Body of Christ, and for you!

I’m grateful for this radio station that airs our program.

I’m grateful for the person who gave Billy a Bible, thankful that he read it and that God gave him the faith to believe.

I’m grateful God gave us time together before He was called home 35 years ago. I’m especially grateful for God’s gift of unmerited mercy and life.

So today, thank God for the people He’s put in your life. Let them know how much they mean to you. You never know, it might be your last time you’re together here on earth.

And on behalf of all of us at Crown and the staff of this radio station, thank you for making this ministry possible! We join together to wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!
