Testimony Tuesday: Year-End Generosity
Generosity is simply sharing the love of God with others!
I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredibly generous people across the world. From landfills and slums to boardrooms and resorts, I’ve seen faithful givers committed to impacting the Kingdom of God. According to Giving USA, our nation’s charitable giving grew to $592 billion last year, reaching a new high when adjusted for inflation.
Each December, my wife, Ann, and I total our yearly giving. Then we determine how much more we can give to advance the Kingdom. Stewarding what God provides enables us to give more and to save on our tax commitment. As Solomon said, “Know well the condition of your flocks and pay attention to your herds.” (Proverbs 27:23)
Those of us who are citizens of America have the privilege of using our charitable dollars to reduce our income taxes. In fact, there are 3 year-end tax-saving tips that can help you save money on your taxes. Max out your 401(k) contributions. Max out your Health Savings Account, and max out your year-end donations.
America is known to be a nation of givers. Use the remaining days of this year to analyze your financial condition. Then, give as you can and as the Lord directs. Let’s sacrifice our wants to meet the needs of others this year! Like Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
Now, if you’ve been helped by Crown or this radio station, I invite you to begin supporting us both. First, give to this radio station. Then consider giving to support Crown’s international mission to spread God’s financial principles. Give today at crown.org.
