Testimony Tuesday – The Faithful Steward

God’s financial principles changed my life. 

I was an unfaithful manager for many years. I didn’t know what God said about Biblical stewardship. Two-thirds of Christ’s parables deal specifically with finances. I just didn’t read them with a humble heart. I thought I knew a lot about money. After all, I had a business degree and was raised in the home of a businessman. Then, God got hold of my heart in a Crown Bible Study. Everything I thought I knew fell apart in light of biblical truth.

I learned that God gives money to fulfill His purposes for our life, but it’s His. He owns it all. I learned that a faithful steward manages whatever God provides. He’s humble, teachable, and works as unto the Lord with excellence. He learns to be content, exercises self-control, and chooses a lifestyle with financial margin so he can give generously.

God’s steward knows His purpose, serves others, loves the body of Christ, his church, and family. He seeks to “do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility counts others more significant than himself.” (Philippians 2:3) A faithful steward seeks to live debt-free, knowing that the borrower is a servant to the lender. He spends less than he earns, sets financial goals, saves, and invests for the future. He’s known for transparency, honesty, and complete integrity in all his ways. Whether he eats or drinks or whatever he does, he does it all to the glory of God.
