Testimony Tuesday – Persevering Through Loss

We have a great testimony from Africa today.

Do you think you’ve got things tough? Well, Lucky lost his leg to lightning in a thunderstorm. Unable to get a prosthesis, he moves around with crutches, but his perseverance, despite the disability, is incredible. Before the accident, he worked on a banana farm, where his love for farming was ignited. Though limited, he has enough land to farm next to a small river in a rural area of South Africa

In 2023, he was sponsored to be trained at Foundations for Farming’s 3-day  Agricultural training course. Afterwards, he and his brother, John, established two vegetable beds – irrigating them with empty 2-litre Coke bottles. Roaming cattle destroyed his first cabbage plants. So, he built a fence with thorn trees and branches to protect the vegetables.

Lucky didn’t have the means to start a big garden. Crown partners supplied small items that he needed. A Foundations for Farming rep visited him monthly, giving encouragement and advice as needed. From a humble beginning, his farm has expanded to more than twenty garden beds. His dream came true. For 2 years, Lucky was mentored in cultivating vegetables, but struggled to produce enough for his family. But this faithful steward persevered using all the resources which the Lord gave him. He’s now able to feed his family and more! Lucky is grateful for everything the Lord is doing. He gives Him all honor and glory for hope and new life after losing his leg.
