Testimony Tuesday – Lessons From a Budget Coach

God uses Crown’s budget coaches to help change lives.

Recently, a woman shared her experience working with one of our budget coaches. She’s no longer living paycheck to paycheck because she learned to take control of the money that God had blessed her with. The course gave her techniques, scripture, and support to rightly manage money. Most significant for her was learning that money is all God’s, and He allows her to distribute it. New to her was the idea that He wants us to seek His will in all matters, including our finances. She now reflects, prays, and seeks God’s wisdom in her financial choices, and she’s equipped with the scripture to turn to when needed.

She’s experienced two significant financial changes. First, she looks at her budget more often and desires to do it daily. Second, she’s gained the courage to say “No.” She now realizes that “No” is a sentence, and that she can say “No” without having to explain why. I love that! She doesn’t have to feel bad or ever feel like she can’t say “No”!  If it’s on her heart to say “no”, then she says it. She firmly believes that the Holy Spirit gives her the “Yes” or “No” in all of her financial chocies. She’s especially appreciated the Biblical lessons because they draw her closer to Christ. It had been a long time since she had been in God’s Word. The consistent study of scripture made that happen, and she remembers what she gleans when doing it regularly.
