Testimony Tuesday – Financial Training at a Zimbabwe Youth Fest

We have a great report today from one of our partners in Africa.

A Youth conference in Zimbabwe held a financial stewardship session for 120 students. Participants were between the ages of 13 and 25. Although most are still in school, a few had already been employed. The goal was to equip the next generation with foundational principles for managing their money in a healthy, God-honoring way. Training focused on the Virtuous Cycle, which is based on five key pillars of financial stewardship: Work, Give, Save, Spend, and Invest. To ensure meaningful engagement, the students were divided into four groups of 30. Each received one hour of focused teaching and discussion. The key lessons included mindset transformation, debt awareness, and early stewardship. Many had never been taught about finances. It reshaped their understanding of money, management, and personal responsibility. They learned to avoid debt, embrace contentment, and practice wise stewardship early in life.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed gratitude for receiving this teaching for the very first time. They found the session both practical and transformative. A notable moment came when one of the youth leaders encouraged the young people to begin saving immediately, even suggesting they save for the next camp. He then challenged them to help sponsor someone else to attend. A meaningful seed has been planted in the hearts of these young people. The hope is this next generation will reset their view on how finances are handled.
