Testimony Tuesday – Don’t Look Down on Youth

God uses children to impact His kingdom.

In Luke 18, we read that People were bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.'”

Can you imagine that scene? I love children, and our Crown staff has some truly amazing children themselves. Their faith, their love, and their generosity are an example to all of us. These children know the stories of our work around the world. We serve in some really hard places, and they’re moved to help.

One middle school boy developed a heart for a young man serving in war-torn Congo. He reached out to his parents’ small group and raised hundreds of dollars to help this man in a time of great need. They’ve become good friends and minister to one another through the love of Christ. A couple of elementary-aged sisters had a lemonade stand to raise money for our work in Madagascar. They excitedly delivered their gift to further kingdom work among the poor in that nation.

Paul told young Timothy, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12) That’s great advice for all young people. You can have a remarkable impact at any age.
