Testimony Tuesday – CCI Cambodia

God is using Crown in Cambodia!

CCI, one of our Alliance Partners, is working to equip resilient churches in Cambodia. The history of evangelical Christianity there is one of perseverance and revival. Introduced in 1923, Christianity grew slowly due to the deeply ingrained Buddhist culture. In the ‘60s, it had a small but faithful presence. By 1970, there were some 10,000 evangelical believers, and the church began expanding. When the Khmer Rouge took power in 1975, 90% of believers were killed. Churches were destroyed, and people were sent to forced labor camps. Some believers escaped to other countries and survived in these refugee camps. Through God’s grace, they returned, joined surviving believers, and rebuilt their faith community.

The number of evangelical churches in Cambodia grew in the ‘90s with increased religious freedom under the new government. They’re being equipped with biblical training that provides practical and spiritual support. Communities are taught biblical financial wisdom through God’s Financial Principlesa seminar developed by Crown. Many attendees have never learned what the Bible says about money. Our training teaches them about wealth, stewardship, and generosity, correcting misconceptions about the prosperity gospel and fostering financial freedom rooted in faith-driven decision-making. CCI Cambodia has planted over 50 churches since 2011. I praise God for their work in expanding the Kingdom of God!
