Testimony Tuesday – Adult-Teen Challenge and Crown

God’s financial principles are relevant for teenagers!

A businessman in Louisiana volunteers his time to teach Crown’s Do Well Study at a Teen Challenge recovery program. He takes a new group through lessons twice a year. At the end of the study, he asks participants to fill out an evaluation. Here are a few comments from those who graduated last Fall.

• Learning the financial part of the Bible is cool.

• God’s ability to bless us way surpasses our outlook on our situation.

• I’ve learned that it’s God’s money, not ours.

• We’re to give 10% and save 10%.

These evaluations are priceless! I didn’t learn many of these truths until Ann and I went through a Crown study, and I was an adult! Here are a few more:

God wants us to be blessed and to live a righteous life so we will bless others.

• Debt is slavery, and a wise person seeks advice.

• This course showed me that money ain’t the most important thing.

Well, that’s true! Few people truly understand how serious stewardship is. It impacts our eternal destiny. As much as Christians desire to hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant”, I wonder how many truly understand what that means!

Stewardship is our God-given responsibility to manage everything He provides. We don’t own any of it. He does. Every financial transaction we make is with His money. How wisely we manage it will determine if we’re faithful or unfaithful stewards.

Now, if you’re struggling with credit card debt, Christian Credit Counselors are the best. They can create a debt management plan specifically for you. For more information, go online at crown.org/ccc.
