Sudden Wealth – Part 1
Do you dream of sudden wealth?
Sudden wealth, can dramatically alter your life. Only by abiding in Christ and following His financial principles, can one handle it with humility and wisdom. If you have a large inheritance, a significant growth in your investments, or the Lord blesses you with a business that creates wealth, be prepared to manage this responsibility wisely. A trusted financial advisor or wealth management expert can provide great knowledge and experience. It’s especially important to find someone who shares your worldview. Those entrusted with much should never forget that God is the owner of it all. Financial decisions should be covered in prayer. Discipline, contentment, and generosity enable faithful management of funds while reducing stress and increasing your joy.
In 1 Timothy 6, the Apostle Paul said, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way, they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” (1 Timothy 6:17-19)
Now if you’re coming into sudden wealth, it’s important to take time to assess the situation. A Godly mentor with a track record of wise financial management can answer questions or point to experts. It’s better to seek counsel than to make costly mistakes.
