Stop Procrastinating

Are you procrastinating?

Procrastination is a part of our fallen nature. I perfected the art in college. Though granted time to prepare, I often ignored due dates and warnings. We know Christmas arrives on December 25th every year, yet many are still out shopping! We know taxes are due April 15th every year, but we wait until the final days and hours to file our federal returns. We know a car must have gasoline to operate properly, but we ignore the warning light. We know that Christ will return as he promised, but we postpone getting serious about His kingdom and run the risk of waiting until it’s too late.

God wants our total commitment. His Word declares that our treasures will be wherever our hearts are. So, where is your heart today? Many in the world consider themselves to be very religious. They respect and admire Jesus Christ, even referring to him as a great prophet. Some are eager for him to return and bring peace to a fallen world, but many will hear, “I don’t know you” if they’ve not been born again by the Spirit.

Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of Jesus. The greatest gift ever offered is found in Him alone. The Apostle Paul said, “…the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Eternal Life! It’s a gift worth far more than all the riches of this world! So, please, don’t procrastinate! Humbly accept the gift and experience the true meaning of Christmas!
