Stewards are Organized – Part 2
Are your finances organized?
Years ago, the pain in my own personal finances got intense. I knew I had to get organized, and that brought peace and security to my wife by helping us live within our means. Here are some helpful tips that might help you become better organized. First, prioritize your tasks. Then take small steps to organize them. Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and annual routines. When you get systems in place, you’ll consistently meet deadlines. You’ll experience improved efficiency and productivity. Your morale and confidence will grow over time, and frustrations will be minimized. Your finances will improve, and you’ll understand how God’s principles offer freedom!
Use a digital or paper filing system and a safe or fireproof box for important documents. Keep track of all your financial accounts. Monitor bank and credit card statements. File your receipts to document billing disputes. Keep a tax file of necessary paperwork to maximize deductions and reduce taxable income. Automate bill paying, and pay others one day per week. Make sure you and your spouse know where important items are kept. Check your credit score and address any problems. Proverbs 10:4 says, “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” The diligent—those committed to following through to complete their responsibilities are rewarded. However, those who fail to get organized will suffer.
Disorganization can lead to credit card debt. Thankfully, Christian Credit Counselors can help. They’ll organize a debt management plan specifically for you. For more information, visit online at crown.org/ccc.
