Stewards are Organized – Part 1

Are you organized?

One of the most frequently mentioned habits of high achievers is organization. Whether one keeps a “To-Do List” or devotes certain hours in weekly planning, developing habits of organization is crucial to stewardship. The dictionary defines a steward as “one employed in a large household or estate to manage domestic concerns, or the keeping of accounts.” The essence of being a steward is to manage well. Over time, the unorganized lose hundreds and thousands of dollars on interest,  late fees, overdrafts, insufficient funds, wire transfers, or ATM charges.

Do you miss deadlines and suffer from credit card or buy now-pay later penalties? Do you file your taxes late? The unorganized make hurried mistakes, which diminish productivity. They forfeit money by misplacing gift cards, coupons, checks, or receipts. Profits from investments are lost by not keeping watch over them. Ultimately, disorganization impacts one’s credit score. In addition, unorganized people often suffer from stress, guilt, anxiety, frustration, and embarrassment. These habits can negatively impact their relationships. Proverbs 10:4 says, A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” This verse makes it clear that the diligent—those committed to following through to complete their responsibilities—are rewarded, and those who fail to get organized will suffer.

Now, if your lack of organization has led to credit card debt, Christian Credit Counselors can help. They’ll organize a debt management plan specifically for you. For more information, visit online at crown.org/ccc.
