Spend More on Entertainment or Giving?

‘Tis the season for giving! 

Did you spend more money on entertainment than you do the work of the Lord? Entertainment is a budget category where spending can vary wildly from person to person. We all need to have fun but within bounds. Planning, couponing, and self-control will restrain expenditures so you have margin for giving.

Entertainment provides an immediate fix. However, it can be a distraction that does not revive our hearts or restore our souls. That’s why we should always give first. Luke 6:38 says: “…give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
