Savings Day – Sacrificial Living

Preparation for financial storms requires sacrificial living.

Are you familiar with this macro-economic cycle? Economies begin with hard work and discipline which leads to abundance and comfort. This leads to indulgence which ultimately leads to decay and destruction. Then, the cycle repeats itself. God’s Word warns us to be prepared for storms of every kind. A great example of this is found in the parable of The Wise and Foolish Builders. In Matthew 7, it says, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Both houses got the same storm. The wise builder knew God’s Word and put it into practice. He must have made multiple sacrifices in order to build such a strong house. Spiritual and financial preparation enables us to be compassionate ambassadors for Christ. Now I hope you’ll prepare for the storms that will come. Learn and apply God’s financial principles. They’ll bring you the ultimate peace. Plus, you’ll be ready to help others. Can I call you to greater sacrificial living? Why not start today?
