Remember Three Words
Want to be a good and faithful steward?
I’m giving you three simple words today. Embrace them in your heart, and they’ll set you on the path to becoming a faithful steward. Are you ready? Here goes: Owner, Controller, Provider. God is the Owner of all things. Listen to Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it…” So take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. We’re not the owners. God is! He owns every single thing – all that we see, feel, touch, or put in our bank account. He even owns you and me. God is in control of all things. 1 Chronicles 29:11 and 12 reads, “Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength.”
God is our Provider. Luke 12:28 says, “… if God provides clothing for the flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, don’t you suppose that he will provide clothing for you, oh yee of little faith?” Three words: Owner, Controller, Provider. God is this and so much more. Apply these truths to your financial decisions and you’ll be a good steward, and if you apply them consistently, you’ll become both a good and faithful steward.
