Practice Thanksgiving

Most financial issues can be solved by dedicated effort.

Want to make this the year you set your financial house in order? Ask the Lord to bless the work of your hands and to give you the determination to live by His principles. Choose to spend less than you earn to gain necessary financial margin. Then, begin each day being grateful for all that you have. The Apostle Paul instructed the Colossians to give thanks three times in just three verses! Listen carefully:

“… let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:15-17)

Gratitude is vital to our emotional and mental health. Make a list of all that God’s given you, and review it daily with thanksgiving. It will keep you eternally focused while getting your house in order. A lifestyle of consistently spending less than you earn will accelerate your financial wellbeing. It grants stability and allows you to focus on true priorities. Making short-term sacrifices now will enable you to achieve long-term goals. Your stress will lessen as you gain financial margin, and you’ll be more grateful for all that God provides. Give it some effort and reap the results!
