No Financial Margin?

Are you living without financial margin?

A minor financial error can cause a major problem. Part of this is due to the lingering impact of inflation.  A CNBC survey reported that 70% of Americans admit to feeling financial stress. 58% report they’re living paycheck to paycheck. The survey noted several specific concerns: a lack of savings and a dependency on debt. According to the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. “People are worried that the money they’ve saved won’t last. They’re also worried they’re going to have to lean more on their credit cards and other sources of debt just to get by.” We’re facing rapidly increasing costs, higher interest rates, and a sense of economic uncertainty. Many people have zero margin for error. That’s why it’s crucial to spend less than you earn.

Make some lifestyle changes and set specific goals to improve your financial situation before the end of the year. Give regularly to the Lord as an act of gratitude. Then, implement a savings program, an important defensive strategy. If you’re married, give the responsibility to the spouse best suited for the task. If you’re single, seek the accountability of a trusted friend or family member. Pray and ask the Lord to grant you self-control – a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Strategically eliminate debt using the snowball or avalanche plan. Before long, you’ll gain financial margin. Sacrifices made today will help you sleep better tonight.
