Valentine’s Day is a holiday to celebrate romantic love. Now, I’m not against romance by any means, but there’s a way to demonstrate love to your family and God that can impact generations. It’s committing yourself to being a Godly steward. Jesus didn’t die on the cross so that we can live life pursuing health, wealth, entertainment, and vanity upon vanity. He died on the cross to stake His claim of ownership over our lives. We were bought with a price. We have a Master, and by His love and grace, we are beckoned to come and serve Him and build His kingdom, not our own.

You’re truly a steward when you acknowledge that you’re not the owner, but God’s temporary manager. Your role as manager is to be faithful to His purposes, regardless of whether he’s entrusted you with a lot or a little. You must seek Him first and allow Him to have total control over your financial choices. Paul told the Galatians: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

Our ambition should be to become rich towards God, not rich in the eyes of men. When that becomes your heart’s desire, you’re on the path to hearing: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23) Commit yourself to Godly stewardship. It’s the greatest way to show love, and will draw you closer to both God and your loved ones!
