Money Worries Cost Sleep
Are you losing sleep because of money?
The 2026 Money Mood Report indicates that 85% of Americans are worried about money. Consistent with previous years, it reveals that financial anxiety remains a significant issue for many people. Rising costs, high debt, and a lack of job security contribute to concerns. For some, money is a persistent issue. Nearly half of those surveyed admit to losing sleep due to financial stress. This is certainly not God’s desire for His people. His Word tells us not to worry about anything! So, here’s my advice:
Address the problem head-on. Often, we freeze and don’t take corrective action. Biblical stewardship replaces financial fear with wisdom, intentionality, and trust in God’s provision. The key is facing the issue and putting a plan in place. You’ll experience relief from the fear, worry, or doubts that plague you. A plan can actually help prevent the problem you previously fretted over. Plus, it will help you be ready should another one come your way. Recognize that all worry is a fearful anticipation of the future. You and I can’t control the future, but God has given us two practical steps to take when worry grips our thoughts. First, Jesus said to live one day at a time. That means to keep our thoughts confined to the present. Second, cast your cares upon the Lord. Get on your knees and ask God to give you relief from the burden you’re carrying. He’s waiting for you to release it and trust Him. So, do it and get some good sleep.
