Marriage, Financial Pain, and Hope

Is your marriage strained by financial issues?

One of the highest forms of pain is to be hurt by or cause harm to those we love. I’ve known many men who built financially successful businesses or attained high positions in corporations. Yet, their marriage and family suffered. I’ve also known men who couldn’t keep a job, didn’t want to work, or had issues that prevented them from providing like they should. Their marriages and families also suffered. If you’re in the middle of a storm, I invite you to look to Christ. Turn from your sins, mistakes, and failures and seek Him with all your heart. Until you draw close to the Lord, you won’t be able to align your finances or be fully united in marriage. He’ll give you the strength to keep your vows. He’ll unite you in love. He’ll bring solutions to financial challenges and restore your joy. He’ll enrich your marriage as you surrender your life to Him.

Distressed marriages take time and perseverance to heal. Lies must be exposed and truth embraced so you can be liberated from the storms that batter your relationship. Restoration is possible despite any division, conflict or rejection that you’ve experienced. Even if you’re the only one willing to work on your marriage right now, let me encourage you with the Apostle Paul’s words: “…we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5)
