Honesty
Does dishonesty bother you?
I’ve traveled to many beautiful places in the world that are totally devastated by corruption. Like cancer of the body, dishonesty spreads death and destruction, and its miserable effects are difficult to contain. God placed us in this world to reveal Himself in and through us. In order to be effective ambassadors, we must take a stand to live by His standards of absolute honesty. There may be times when this results in personal loss or persecution, but our biggest potential losses involve much more than money. If we aren’t honest with something as trivial as money, we won’t be entrusted with something far greater. Jesus said, “So if you’ve not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Luke 16:11
In Romans 13, Paul said, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (Romans 13:8-10) We should pray for a personal revival of absolute honesty in our own hearts. Pray for nations around the world. Pray for our political, ministry, and business leaders.
