Hitting Rock Bottom in Your Finances

Have you hit rock bottom in your finances? Don’t give up – there’s hope!

If you’re suffering, I want to give you direction to get back on your feet again.

Brokenness forces us to wholly depend on God. James said, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (James 1:2-3)

Yes, joy. Trials can lead us to God so that our meaning and purpose is found in Him alone. We can trust Him through the deepest heartaches because he allows hardship for our good. And that includes finances.

So, lean on the Lord and embrace what God says is financially best for you.

First, acknowledge that He owns everything. Surrender everything to His lordship in order to discover true peace and freedom, then steward wisely what He provides.

Next – Work! No matter your pain, if possible, get up and work. Satisfaction can be found when using your talents and abilities in the workplace. If your current job isn’t working, seek a better situation or consider taking our Career Direct assessment and talking with a trained counselor.

Save like never before and only buy essentials. Try using cash-only and record every dollar you spend. Create an easy to follow budget, and build an emergency savings account of $1000 as quickly as possible. Then, aim for 3 to 6 months of living expenses.

It will take self-control, a faithful heart, and disciplined hands to get there. But, you can do it.  Consider it pure joy.
