Greed

Greed is self-destructive!

Greed is the insatiable desire to have more and demand only the best for yourself. God doesn’t prohibit us from enjoying the benefits of our labor, but we’re not to desire more, more, more, or the best of everything. When greed rules our hearts, we can’t serve God fully.

Jesus said: “Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:19-20) To overcome greed, we redirect our goals to store up eternal treasures.
