Finding Peace This Christmas

Have you surrendered to the commercial madness of the season? Or, have you found peace in being still this season?

Christmas is a time to pause…. ponder….and praise the gift of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rather than succumbing to unwanted financial burdens we can go to Him for peace and find strength to sacrificially serve and share His love with others.

Overspending is the opposite of how Christians should celebrate. It creates stress and robs us of the ability to save and give generously to our churches and those in need.

Likewise, time must be stewarded as carefully as money.

Trusting God, we can say “No” to the demands of the world and seek ways to grow in faith, reduce distractions, and serve others. This allows us to celebrate the birth of Him who fills us with His peace.

Emphasize Christ as the real gift by saying “No” to activities that aren’t necessary or conducive to the good of your family.

Unplug phones, TVs and laptops. Sleep in and don’t feel bad about it! Have fun! Laugh, sing and create happy memories.

Fill your home with relaxing sounds and smells that bring peace and joy.

Start a family journal to record your blessings. Phone loved ones and write letters. Gratitude is contagious and brings contentment.

Start your days with praise and thanksgiving to the God of perfect love. He will fill your heart with peace that passes all understanding. May we all rejoice with the prophet Isaiah:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

If you have been blessed by this ministry in any way, we hope that you will consider making a generous donation to Crown and your local radio station.
