Financial Challenges – Strengthen Your Mind
Are you overwhelmed with financial challenges?
The first step to overcoming financial difficulty is changing your mindset. Then you actively strengthen your mind so you’ll think and act wisely. Here are some tips: First take every thought captive. “…demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Second renew your mind. “Don’t conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you’ll be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)
Third protect your mind and heart. Proverbs 4:23 warns, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” The “heart” includes the mind and all that proceeds from your thoughts.
Fourth pray fervently. “Watch and pray so that you won’t fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) Five, be positive. “…whatever’s true, noble, right, pure, lovely, or admirable – if anything’s excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)
And finally, cling to hope. “…since we’ve been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we’ve gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand… we boast in the hope of the glory of God…and we glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5: 1-4) Strengthening your mind ultimately impacts your financial behavior!
