Do You Dream of Living in an RV?
Do you Dream of living in an RV?
The RV Industry reports that around 10 million U.S. households own an RV, with the majority of them only using their RV 3 to 4 weeks out of the year, but an estimated 500,000 to a million people actually live in them full-time! If you’re considering this lifestyle, I have some helpful tips.
RVs are typically around 300 square feet. So make sure you get along well with your spouse or your pets. Address any problems before you downsize and hit the road. If you enjoy camping, tight spaces, and doing things other than house and yard work, this could be the life for you! You’ll learn to be flexible and patient because water and power are usually quite limited. You’ll have little room for possessions, so you’ll need to plan accordingly. Do you plan to sell your home? If so, give yourself time to find a buyer – along with selling or storing items that you want to keep. Schedule routine maintenance. This can cost $2,000 or more annually. Think through your trip, then reserve a spot in an RV park or campground. Shop carefully, and pack wisely. Towing a small car makes running errands or sightseeing easier, but that’s another vehicle to insure. Plus, you’ll need a special RV policy if you plan to live in it full-time. I’m grateful that Jesus has prepared a place for us and all who believe in Him. It’ll be greater than any RV we can imagine!
