Decisions Based on Trust

Do you ever find yourself suffering from fear and anxiety just listening to the news?

Many decisions God’s people make on a day-to-day basis are motivated by fear of the future rather than trust in God. And, that’s especially true with financial decisions. In a moment of fear, it’s easier to depend on money than it is to depend on Christ.

It’s God’s plan that we have some needs so we’ll depend on Him. Those needs are opportunities to exercise faith in a trustworthy God.

Matthew reminds us that our Heavenly Father takes care of the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. They don’t worry about anything and God still provides for them every day. So how much more will He provide for you and I, His children?!

Decide to start living in freedom instead of bondage. If you are constantly worried about money or afraid of what’s coming next, surrender your circumstances to the Lord. He sees you and knows every need you have.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart  and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Be diligent to plan for the future – this means saving, budgeting, and investing are all wise decisions. But in every decision, learn to trust Christ, not a bank, an investment, or a plan. Only then will you experience the true freedom He has to offer.
