Created for God’s Purposes

Rick Warren says, “Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose, life has no meaning. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.”

Thankfully, there IS a purpose to this life. In fact, “The Lord has made EVERYTHING for its specific purpose.”

The Apostle Paul wrote “ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Knowing and believing this, we can gladly embrace how He made us. The talents and gifts He blesses us with are not simply for our own benefit, but for HIS honor and glory. Whatever we do, we’re to work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. This gives us the platform to proclaim His goodness to a needy world full of lost and hurting people who desperately need hope and a reason to live.

As Christians, we have the advantage of knowing a certain future. And how we use our time and talents are crucial in our vocations. Our attitude is the key ingredient in any vocation decision.

Are we seeking worldly standards of security, ego and income? Or do we seek to please God and thus serve others?

With the gift of God’s Word and His Holy Spirit, we have the advantage of being able to see life from God’s perspective. So, embracing how He’s wired us, and purposefully walking in good works is how we can best serve Him and experience the abundant life here and now.
