Crazy Money! Tom Brady’s 10-Year Contract with Fox
It’s Crazy Money Day!
Tom Brady’s the highest -paid sports broadcaster in history, earning far more than he did playing the game. His 10-year contract with Fox Sports pays him $37 million annually to call major NFL games and serve as an ambassador for the network. He completed 2 years in February.
Many people believe happiness is just one raise, one bonus, or financial breakthrough away. If they could just earn a little more or buy a little better, their life would feel complete, but the Bible tells us a different story. It reminds us that riches are uncertain and temporary. They can’t give lasting peace, and the pursuit of them often creates serious problems. That’s why Jesus warned us not to store up treasures on earth or to put our trust in wealth. Not because money is evil or bad, but because it’s a poor substitute for joy.
Jesus said, “Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21) So, let me ask you this: Are you expecting money to give you something that only the Lord can provide? When our hope is placed in riches, disappointment is inevitable. When our hope is anchored in Christ, money becomes a tool for good, not a source of identity or happiness.
