Crazy Money! Some Costly Water

It’s Crazy Money Day!

Do you drink water when eating out? Around 33% of Americans say they only order water when eating at a restaurant. If that’s you, you might be interested in The Inn at Little Washington. They’ve maintained a Michelin 3-star status for seven consecutive years, and their water menu is remarkable. It describes the taste and texture of each water and its country of origin. There are still and sparkling choices, and some even come from underground glaciers that are thousands of years old. A Virginian still water is free and provides a “Low minerality, refreshing taste”. That would probably be my pick. However, there’s a sparkling Crazy Water from Texas which runs $8 that I’d definitely be tempted to try.

Our standard water bottles have 16.9 ounces – roughly 500 milliliters. The Inn’s sparkling water from Slovenia goes for $75 for 500 milliliters. Their most expensive offering hails from Canada and runs $95 for 750 milliliters. It’s crazy!

When Jesus spoke to the woman at the well, he told her that water would never satisfy. He said, “Whoever drinks the water I give will never thirst…it will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14) Later on, in the book of Revelation, chapter 7, the Apostle John was told that those who come out of the great tribulation will be sheltered by the presence of God; they’ll never hunger or thirst again. The Lamb will lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. That water is priceless. Settle for nothing less.
