Crazy Money! Luxury Mattresses

It’s Crazy Money Day! 

I need a new mattress, so I’m in the market for one that is a bit firmer. Someone recently told us that their friends paid $60,000 for a mattress and are getting the best sleep ever. That’s right – $60,000! That’s crazy! A little online research reveals that one handcrafted mattress, made with 29 layers of organic materials, does indeed cost tens of thousands of dollars! It has cashmere, silk, alpaca wool, horsehair, and natural latex in the construction. These materials add to the cost, but because luxury mattresses are produced in limited quantities, their scarcity makes them more desirable and therefore, more expensive. 

The Hästens mattress brand is the most expensive in the world. Established in 1852, the family-owned company has maintained its manufacturing in Sweden, specializing in mattresses, bedding accessories, and a complete bed system. One system they make is the luxury bed of luxury beds, costing over half a million dollars, and I’m not kidding! They’re recognized by their blue and white plaid fabric.

Proverbs 3 instructs us not to let wisdom and understanding out of our sight. They preserve sound judgement and discretion. When we lie down, we won’t be afraid, and our sleep will be sweet.  What an offer. That’s a far better way to get a good night’s sleep, but still, I’m going to ask God to lead me to a good, affordable, firm mattress!
