Crazy Money Day – Working Overtime

It’s Crazy Money Day!

In 2015, a janitor at the Bay Area Rapid Transit station grossed $235,000. That was 4 times more than his base pay. Over a 3-year period, he earned $682,000 in pay and benefits. Now that’s crazy! Imagine if you worked extra hours each week. You could pay down debt, grow an emergency fund, save for the down payment on a house, or build your retirement fund.

Overtime provides more income, can advance your career, and pay better than a second job. Though it does mean you need to rest well in your off-hours and avoid burn-out. Regardless: “…work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” (Colossians 3:23)
