Crazy Money! Cutting Edge Firewood

It’s Crazy Money Day! 

While attending Berry College, Leroy Hite sold firewood with some buddies. He later founded Cutting Edge Firewood – a luxury brand specializing in wood for fireplaces, grills, pizza ovens, and firepits. The company has over 30,000 customers and a list of celebrity clients. It’s received attention from Fox and Friends, Today, Garden and Gun, Netflix, Hulu, and more.

Faith carried him through extremely tough times. At one point he had $12 in the bank and major debt, but God provided. Another time, Leroy and his wife, pregnant with their 3rd daughter, sold their house to invest everything they had into the business. He prayed, fasted, and drew strength from the book of Exodus. When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, God fought on their behalf. Leroy relied on that power. Despite initial challenges, the company grew significantly. Thriving during Covid-19, they’ve achieved a 400% increase in sales. Leroy says, “Everybody thought I was crazy, and looking back, I might have been…I didn’t have a plan. I was doing what I thought I was supposed to do.”

Cutting Edge Firewood transformed the market through faith-driven entrepreneurship. Leroy had 2 goals: providing the best firewood available and unparalleled customer service and deliveries. He raised the bar on quality and delivery. Leroy sold the company in August of 2024 but has the entrepreneurial bug. I look forward to learning what he does next! Whatever it is, he’ll serve his customers with excellence.
