Crazy Money! $8 Million Dollar Raise

It’s Crazy Money Day!

What would you do with an 8 million dollar raise? Hard to even comprehend, isn’t it! Stephen A. Smith, the face of ESPN’s First Take, won a 5-year contract extension after a lengthy negotiation. His annual salary jumped from twelve to twenty million dollars! It’s crazy!

God created work for our good. It becomes worship when done as an offering to God, not just for personal benefit. When our hearts are intertwined with His, work is where we live out our faith in word and deed. It’s where our gifts and spiritual principles are put into practice. Colossians 3:17 succinctly reminds us, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

You can honor Jesus with every project, task, and conversation you have. Even when frustrated, your diligence and attention to detail should glorify God, because it’s for Him that you ultimately work. Work becomes worship when done with a submissive heart. 1st Samuel says, “to obey is better than sacrifice.” (1 Samuel 15:22) God has a purpose for your work, and it requires a humble obedience.

Whatever you do, have a great attitude, submit to authority, give it your best, and serve beyond expectations. Obey God – for He knows your needs and desires. He cares about your work, and He has a good plan for your life. You may not get million-dollar raises, but God deserves your very best wherever you work.
