Crazy Money! $500 Super Shoes
It’s Crazy Money Day!
An Axios report reveals that in September, a female Ethiopian runner broke the women’s marathon record in Berlin. She wore Adidas’ new state-of-the-art Pro Evo1 shoes. They’re the lightest shoes she’s ever worn. It was the first time they were used in a major race. Several weeks later, a Kenyan long-distance runner broke the Chicago men’s record. He was wearing Nike’s prototype super shoe. It’s super lightweight with a propulsion bubble. Then an Ethiopian runner broke the men’s New York City marathon record in under 2m5s winning $100,000. He wore Adidas super shoes. Some say these super shoes provide an unfair advantage. The “stacked foam, carbon-plated, rocker” design serves a niche market. Evo1 can be purchased now for $500 and Nike plans to release theirs in January.
But let’s put this all in perspective. In Ephesians Paul says to put on the full armor of God, so we can stand against the devil’s schemes. We’re to wear the belt of truth buckled around our waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Don’t forget the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. I love the imagery and the advantage of being dressed for the battles that come our way. Now, I like a great pair of shoes, but I definitely want to be fully dressed in the armor of God! How about you?
