Contentment

Christmas is a time where the world’s ideas come in stark contrast to those of the Kingdom of God.

The world  tells you that if you have more money, you’ll be happier. The world tells you that you’re a good parent if you can afford to buy your kids everything on their Christmas list. The world tells you to show your love by what you spend on others.

But God says you can be content with what you have. God says that you’re a good parent if you love and care for your children even if you can’t buy them everything on their wish list. God says that we have true riches that money cannot buy.

When you start thinking this way, you get free of the materialism that bombards us and remember the One who was born in a lowly manger…. Who remains the best Christmas present of all.
