Commit to Care For Your Temple

Are you taking care of your health?

I’m inspired by my 85-year-old friend. He’s an attorney who works full time, is earning an MBA, and goes to CrossFit. He does 100 push-ups and four 1-minute planks every day. He can still do chin-ups! Now I can’t keep up with him! His 82-year-old wife teaches fitness classes and is a prayer partner with my wife. They’re both incredible! Now there are financial savings in properly stewarding your health. It adds up over time. You’ll experience an improved quality of life and protection from long-term disease. Your earning power will increase with lower absenteeism at work. Fewer doctor visits means reduced medical bills, and the likelihood of catastrophic injury or death will decrease.

It’s a financially savvy move to protect yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. This requires a healthy diet, plenty of sleep, proper exercise, and stress management. Although this kind of self-care requires discipline and motivation, you and your family, and your business will benefit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” If you struggle with unhealthy addictions like tobacco, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, or sex, ask the Lord to break the stronghold. Pray for self-discipline and the motivation to glorify Him in your body.

Now I invite you to join us at Crown’s 2023 Reunion. We’ll gather October 12-15 at Ridgecrest Conference Center near beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. For more details and to register, go to crown.org/reunion.
