Choose to Trust God

Do you trust God or just say that you trust God?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to wake up tomorrow with the ability to trust the Lord in everything? Imagine no doubts or fears, but trust doesn’t usually develop overnight. It grows as we walk with God through the uncertainties of life. Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Trusting God means surrendering the desire to understand or control our circumstances. When it comes to finances, we can worry about whether we’ll have enough. There are unexpected expenses, retirement, or the loss of income. Fear tempts us to take control, hoard what we have, or make decisions without seeking wise counsel. Yet, God invites us to faithfully obey Him with what He’s placed in our hands today. We can work diligently, give generously, save, spend, and invest wisely while trusting Him with the results.

Financial challenges are opportunities to strengthen that trust. When the Lord provides, remember His faithfulness. When circumstances are difficult, continue to obey. You may not wake up tomorrow completely free from every doubt or fear, but you can wake up determined to trust God one decision at a time, and over your lifetime, you’ll see His faithfulness. Trust will become less of a struggle and more a way of life.
