Birthday Thoughts

Today I’m sharing some personal thoughts on my birthday.

I entered this world on July 2nd, 1957. I was born with complications that caused the doctors to believe that I might not live. My parents called for a prayer meeting with close family and friends, asking the Lord to spare my life. Pleading with the Lord, my parents gave me over to God completely on the first night of my birth. They believed my survival was a miracle. So, it was no surprise to them that one day God called me into his service. However, my journey was not a path on the straight and narrow. I made many mistakes along the way. The choices I made in work and investing would either make me really rich or really poor! Thankfully, God took the area of my greatest weakness – managing money – and now uses it for good.

In God’s providence, He used a Crown Bible Study to pull me out of the financial bondage that I had lived in for many years. He transformed my thinking, my goals, my heart, and my ego. By removing my desire for the world’s riches, He led me to true riches promised to those who love Him, not money. So today, I truly thank God for giving me life, giving me purpose, and setting me on a new course. It’s one that I hope and pray is a blessing to you and your family.

Whatever mistakes you’ve made, know that God can redeem them. Just remember me. God chose a man foolish with money to lead a global ministry helping others with their financial problems. Only God could have done that.
