Believers Have the Mind of Christ

You and I have an unfair advantage!

In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul wrote that believers, those who have trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior, have an advantage over those in the world. Christians have the mind of Christ! God gave us His Spirit so that we can understand what He’s freely given us. Those who don’t know the Lord can’t accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. They consider them foolishness, and they don’t understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit, but through the Holy Spirit, we can access the wisdom of Christ and align our thoughts and decisions around His teachings and values.

When we apply the mind of Christ to our finances, we honor God in the way we manage what He’s given us. We reflect the love of Christ through our generosity to the poor, the needy, the church, and the organizations that spread the gospel and teach others to manage what God has provided. Our advantage lies in the fact that we can seek divine guidance in financial decisions. We can ask God for wisdom and understanding in budgeting, giving, saving, and investing. We can also learn from trusted believers. When we live with thankful hearts for God’s provision in our lives, we cultivate a spirit of contentment. This helps us avoid the trap of materialism so we can focus on what truly matters. God’s Word is full of principles that promote spiritual and financial health. Study it and learn to think like Jesus. God gives His beloved the mind of Christ.
