Are You Worried About Money in Today’s World?

Are you worried about all the negative news?

The stock market is volatile. Inflation is still a problem. Tariffs and supply chain issues are concerning. No wonder people are worried about their financial future. When one’s meaning and purpose in life are linked to current events, it’s hard to find peace – unless we choose to see the world through God’s eyes. Regardless of government actions, believers must place their hope and dependence on the Lord. Filled with His Spirit, we can be strong and courageous because He is with us. We may be tested and suffer financially in the days ahead, or we may prosper! Only God knows the future. Our responsibility is to obediently follow Him and live in such a way that we reflect the source of our hope to an anxious world that has no hope.

As the Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4, “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

You see, money is temporary, but our relationship with God is eternal. So, “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'” (Hebrews 13:5) So let’s not focus on what’s wrong in the world. Instead, give thanks for the gift of today. For our hope is not in this world but in the world to come.
